Flaw 22: Curry County claim would convert one of the West Coast’s last roadless estuaries to high-end resort

A Curry County family has a claim for $28.3 million that proposes a resort on more than 700 acres of coastal farm land sandwiched between two state parks that faces the ocean. The Sixes River runs through it, creating an estuary that is one of the last in the state without roads. The estuary of this wild river provides prime habitat for native salmon. The owner wants to construct two 18-hole golf courses, a 250-room hotel and 150 single-family homes on the tracts of land.
