Flaw 38: Measure 37 claim larger than Prineville in Crook County
Several Measure 37 claims totaling 15,464 acres, over three times the size of Prineville, have been filed by Aspen Valley Limited Partnership with Crook County. The claims are east of Prineville on both sides of Highway 380 and the Crooked River. The land is currently zoned exclusive farm use and forest use, and the claimants are requesting a waiver of regulations to allow subdivision of the property into 3,092 residential lots. This would increase the number of households in the county by 50%.
