Flaws 41: Measure 37 wallops Jackson County
7,563 Measure 37 claims have been filed in Oregon, but these claims have not been distributed evenly across the state. Some counties have been hit harder than others. For example, Jackson County has had 574 claims filed, which cover 59,406 acres, the second highest county acreage total in the state. This accounts for almost 7% percent of private land in Jackson County. The majority of this acreage (62%) is on land zoned for exclusive farm use, and the majority of claims filed with Jackson County (52%) are requesting subdivisions.
